Battling the Waves: how to minimize damage

If a vessel runs into heavy rolling, the crew usually adjusts the course and speed to reduce the motion. Heading into the waves at an angle can help minimize rolling.
👉Stabilizers kick in automatically on most vessels, but sometimes manual adjustments are needed.
🧍♂️Passengers/crew members should stay seated, avoid walking around, and follow seniors officers.
📄During a storm or heavy rolling, crew members are expected to follow standard safety protocols. That includes wearing proper safety gear like helmets and safety shoes, using handrails when moving around, and avoiding unnecessary movement on deck.
📦All loose equipment and cargo must be properly secured. Bridge and engine room personnel stay alert and maintain communication.
📌Non-essential tasks are usually postponed until conditions improve.
Be careful and take care of yourself and your crew team!
